Today we’d like to introduce you to Vince Verza.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Vince. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, when I was around 4 or 5, I began playing the piano and that led me to join other bands in school, I would have band rehearsals before and after school everyday starting in 5th grade and that lasted up until I hit 8th grade in junior high. Around this time, I knew I wanted to start diving into something completely new and that was creating instrumental type music, my biggest influences at the time were anything from alternative rock music to hip hop and rap music. I was, at the time, wanting to produce hip hop beats for people but found that over time I also enjoyed writing the raps as well. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I decided to pursue music full time. This is what I want to be known. So, my freshman in college, I recorded and released 2 singles: “Stop” and “Changed Me” and 1 1o track mixtape named, “A Wonderful Time, Inside A Wonderful Mind. That following spring, I released another single, “Again” before a 7 track EP “Patience” in June, followed by another single, “Madness” in November along with visuals and performances throughout the journey. Today, I am in the process of working on my new full length album entitled, “Organic” which I hope to release fairly soon. All of my music is available in any major streaming platforms, Spotify, Apple Music/iTunes, Soundcloud, Amazon, etc.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been a completely easy journey, my team and I have definitely had obstacles that we’ve had to overcome, whether it would be dealing with budgets and certain funds to making sure each songs, concept and marketing strategy for the release is completed perfectly as well as simply making enough time to complete college work and personal work simultaneously. We’ve had our road blocks but what hustle hasn’t?
By my artist name Vince Verza – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As a rapper in this industry at this particular point in time, I feel that I bring a different flavor to the mix. I feel my sound is something that is a blend of psychedelic instrumentation, story-like lyricism and of course a classic nostalgic presence of the east coast hip hop that invites jazz-like elements and low-key, groovy rhythms.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me, is when you’ve reached what the real you has always dreamt of. When you’re in your own habitat, happy, in control and surrounded by those you came up with. With that, comes a healthy environment.
